We met during a job interview and the rest is history.
Now, here's how it all went down:
Ellie interviewed at Harbinger Marketing, the company where Elijah had begun his career.
Elijah was a part of the Leadership team interviewing Ellie and sat right next to her. He introduced himself, shook her hand, got down on his knee, and proposed...kidding!
Following the interview, Ellie was offered the position at Harbinger and so began the story that neither of them was expecting in May of 2023.
After several months of little hints made, flirtatious signals sent, and cryptic messages communicated, Elijah finally asked Ellie to dinner (we are skipping the part where Elijah met with the head of HR and CEO to disclose the potential relationship and then created documents to sign with Ellie so that dinner could happen...the lengths we went for a casual burger and fries dinner date).
After a few weeks of dating, Elijah's dad had a heart attack in October of 2023 and then a heart transplant three weeks later. This major life event put their relationship on pause for several months. After two and a half months of playing the no-mans land game (with lots and lots of conversations in-between), Ellie and Elijah resumed their relationship and made that thang official on March 10th, 2024.
Before dating, they both said that it would be appropriate to date for a year and a half to two years before engagement. After one month, they started talking about what kind of ring styles they liked.
Not even six months later, on August 31st, 2024, Elijah proposed to Ellie in a garden venue, right behind the Harbinger office in which they first met. This garden was the place where Ellie and Elijah walked together and prayed together during the time of their dating, and continue to revisit and do the same today.
There is one truth that comes to mind when reflecting on our story together, seeing how quickly it has changed and how much we have grown: The Lord's plan and timing is without flaw. Only He could have orchestrated such a story and weathered our relationship through the trials and tribulations that it faced. We praise Him and give Him all of the glory, and it is our prayer that our marriage would be symbolic of Christ and His bride (the Church). All glory be to Christ.
